Document: Dutch colonial council minutes, 16 January 1647

Judgment in the case of Symon Dircksen Pos vs. Augustyn Heerman. This was an action to recover damages done to a parcel of beaver skins, sent from Fort Orange to New Amsterdam; defendant denies having sent the beavers down, and it appears that they were so sent to the plaintiff by two magistrates of Fort Orange, after defendant had left that place, defendant is nonsuited.
