Court proceedings. Jan Pietersen vs. Cornelis Jacobsen Stille, for payment of corn; judgment for plaintiff. Claes Cornelissen Swits vs. Jacob Stoffelsen; case put over. Fiscal vs. John Doudey, and Claes, the cabin boy of the yacht West India Raven, for having cut off an Indian's wampum belt; plead guilty; sentence: Claes, the cabin boy, to be flogged with the cat o' nine tails, in the fort, and Doudey to ride the Wooden horse and lose two month's wages (see Vol. 1, pp. 126, 127.)
