Court proceedings. Fiscal vs. Cornelis Pietersen and Laurens Andriessen, soldiers, for breach of the peace last Sunday and wounding Richard Pinoyer; defendants to pay a fine of 150 guilders, to ride the Wooden horse during the parade, and to be conveyed thence to prison, or else to go immediately on shipboard and not return on shore, on forfeiture of their wages. Michel Jansen vs. Laurens Cornelissen, for the recovery of 90 guilders due by plaintiff's man-servant, whom the defendant carried from the colonie without consent; defendant denies that he knew the man to be a hired servant; plaintiff maintains that the defendant ought to have delivered the man over to the fiscal at the Manhattans, and not carried him elsewhere; judgment for plaintiff. William de Key vs. Hendrick Kip, slander; ordered that defendant's wife appear next Thursday and acknowledge in court, that what she stated to the prejudice of the plaintiff is false, and not repeat the offense on pain of severer punishment.
