Court proceedings. Andries Hudde vs. Dirck Corsen Stam, for goods belonging to the late Hendrick de Foreest; case postponed. Johannes la Montagne vs. John Merris (? Merrit), for damages to plaintiff's tobacco, in consequence of the blowing down of the tobacco house which defendant had built for him; referred for arbitration to a Dutch and an English carpenter, viz. : Gillis Pietersen and John Haes. [1641];Declaration. Dirck Corsen Stam, that he never said in Holland that Johannes la Montagne daily filled his pockets with ducatoons and jacobuses. [1641];Court proceedings. Willem Dircksen Schepmoes, skipper, vs. Jacob Dircksen, boatswain, and Jan Heyn, for neglecting their duty on board the ship White Falcon; defendants dismissed from the ship, and fined each 20 guilders. [1641]
