Letter. William Beeckman to director Stuyvesant; arrival of capt. Woeler (Wheeler?), a fugitive Quaker from Maryland; manifests no respect to the vice-director, as such is contrary to his conscience; no such sect will be tolerated; great excitement in Maryland between Protestants and Catholics; many beheaded and several hanged and quartered in England; more than 1,000 reformed ministers in prison there, because they will not conform to the Catholic religion, &c.; Fins emigrating to Maryland.
