Anthony Colve, Governor-General of New Netherland for their High Mightinesses the Lords States-General of the United Netherlands and his Serene Highness the Prince of Orange.

To all those who shall see these presents or hear them read. Greeting, make known:Whereas experience hath proved that it is highly necessary to continue the office of Auctioneer on Long Island, therefore on the petition presented by Secretary Francis de Bruyn, he is thereunto commissioned and qualified, and said Francis de Bruyn is accordingly commissioned and appointed hereby as Auctioneer for the towns of Midwout, Amesfort, Breuckelen, Boshwyck and Utreght with their dependencies situate on Long Island aforesaid: Ordering and commanding all and every whom the same may in any wise concern to acknowledge said Francis de Bruyn as Auctioneer of said towns and to let him act as such unmolested pursuant to the orders and instructions which to that end are already or will hereafter be issued. Done Fort Willem Hendrick, the first January, 1673.[1]
