Ordinance against immoderate drinking and entertaining seamen on shore at night. [1638];Court proceedings. Symon Pos vs. Arent Dircksen, for breach of fishing contract; Jan Damen vs. Lenaert Arentsen, for breach of his son's indentures; judgment for plaintiff, and defendant ordered to send his son back whenever he runs away. Fiscal vs. Jan Schepmoes et al., for violation of the law against entertaining people at night; defendants fined. Fiscal vs. Hendrick Jansen for slander; ordered that defendant prove that he was asleep when the slander was uttered. Fiscal vs. Jan Dircksen for trading in furs; defendant not to leave the Manhattans pending the suit. [1638]
